The AFOA Atlantic Annual Conference is happening November 21-23, 2023 in Dartmouth NS! This free conference is a fantastic way to get up to speed on the latest updates.

 

It’s also a great time to catch up with fellow professionals, share success stories and best practices and ask questions from the people involved in our region’s departments and professional services fields.

Day 2 – Starts at 8:00am on November 22 until 4:00pm (AST).

Day 3 – Starts at 8:00am on November 23 until 12:00pm (AST).

Accommodations:

A block of rooms is being held at the Delta Dartmouth Hotel. Rooms will be held until October 17, 2023. The rate is $144.00 per night plus taxes.

1:00pm to 4:00pm – Fundamentals of Conducting Internal Workplace Investigations

  • Gain foundational knowledge and practical skills needed to plan, conduct, and document effective internal workplace investigations. Participants will become familiar with the investigation framework, collecting and analyzing evidence, interviewing

9:00am to 4:00pm – Wills & Estates: The Role of the Executor

  • This workshop on the Role of an Executor is designed to provide individuals with an understanding of the work involved in being an Executor and Trustee in the administration of Estates and Testamentary Trusts, as well as a basic grounding in Wills and Will Interpretation. You will also learn about the legal and tax environment, and the level of competence required to be an Executor.
